Happy holiday decorating sweet friends!
These adorable shapes were so fun to decorate, most of them are fairly easy designs. I’ll be sharing the recipes I used, tools & cookie cutter sources and cookie inspirations below.
Christmas is just around the corner and I’m working on putting together free videos on how to decorate these, so this post is a quick one. Just a zillion photos and the main information you’ll need if you’d like to make them too. (UPDATE – HERE IS THE VIDEO POST).
Cookie Recipe
I used my classic gingerbread cookie recipe for these, which you can find here. If you’d like to try a different cookie base, other recipes can be found here.
A few cookies were made using a new cookie recipe which I’ll be sharing in a few days.
Royal Icing Recipe
You can find my favorite royal icing recipe here. The consistency of icing is key for easy decorating. Click here to see a YouTube video on finding the right icing thickness.
Complete Guide to Royal Icing PDF
You can also find my Complete Guide to Royal Icing Consistency here.
Cookie Designs
All the icing consistencies are medium, unless mentioned otherwise. You can find my Complete Guide to Royal Icing Consistency here.

Cookie Inspiration
Thank you to Shiori of Fiocco Cookies for the angel and tree with gingerbread man cookie design inspiration! I love all her adorable designs. You can find her cutters at How Sweet is That?
The snowglobe inspiration is from a gift tag, and the red house is based on a Christmas card I got last year. I’ll share photos of them in the video post.
In case you missed it, a tutorial video on these cookies with more information is in the works. Coming as soon as I can finish it! In the meantime, if you have any questions or comments please feel free to drop me a line below in the comment section or on social media. You can find me on Facebook, Google+, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter and YouTube.
Happy decorating!
xo,
Marian
p.s. I hope you don’t mind the smorgasborg of photos. 😀
