It’s early to be talking about Christmas, please forgive me, but I’m excited to share with you that I’ve got gingerbread house cookie cutter sets being released today!
Gingerbread House Cookie Cutters
You may recognize the pink gingerbread house below, that I made and shared in 2011, along with a few other gingerbread houses here. You can find a template there as well, and although a template is great, having cookie cutters is so much easier and faster! Thanks to Sherry of How Sweet is That? for encouraging me to have the gingerbread house cutter sets made!
You can find the sets exclusively at three of my favorite on-line baking supply shops; Flour Box Bakery, How Sweet is That? and Truly Mad Plastics. UPDATE – The sets are available again! The sets sold out in 3 days! I am having another batch made, they should be ready by late November. Please feel free to sign up for blog post updates to find out when they are released. If you’re not sure how to sign up, I’ve made a screen shot for you below. Just click on the purple button at the top right of the site, and fill in the on-line form.

A few facts about the sets:
- Sturdy cookie cutters made from food safe stainless steel
- Includes 7 cookies cutters – side, roof, front (same piece for back), door, chimney pieces, gingerbread man
- Easy to clean with hot water and soap, dry before storing. They are actually dishwasher safe as they are stainless steel, but I personally prefer to hand wash all my cookie cutters
- Gingerbread house will stand approximately 7 inches tall and 3.5 inches wide when completed
- Perfect for Christmas or any time
- Can also be a little gift for family and friends
Gingerbread House Assembly Instructions
And if you’re here because you’ve bought a set, below are some basic instructions for you:
Above and below are graphics of the gingerbread house cookie cutters. See each piece to find out how many of each you’ll need to construct your house.
You can have the option of a front and back door. If you only want a front door, place a door shaped cookie inside the door opening of the front piece and bake.

Laura says
so cute! could the house be made with sugar cookie dough?
Roshini says
Yes I’ve made before as I couldn’t make gingerbread cookies since I couldn’t find molasses in any of the shops in Sri Lanka
Marian says
Hi Laura,
Yes, it could. You can make it with any of my cut-out cookie doughs. The only recipe I would say to make sure you bake a bit longer than usual (to make the pieces more crisp and sturdy), is my shortbread cookie recipe. Let me know if you have any more questions, happy to help!
Roshini says
It’s SO CUTE
Marian says
Hi Roshini,
Thanks and thanks for sharing above about making it before!
M Mayhugh says

Hi Maria,
Thanks so much, I’m so glad you like it and I appreciate your comment! xo
Kat says
I just bought a set and am so excited to make a gingerbread house with them. For so many years I have been using my traditional plastic Wilton set. I am excited to try your design. I like that your house looks taller and leaner, not as boxy as my Wilton set. And your packaging looks charming. Thank you!!!
marian says
Hi Kat,
Thanks so much for buying a set! I hope you enjoy it! In case you missed it, I do have a video with instructions and recipes… Sounds like you’re already very experienced though! xo
Cheryl says
Please, please have more of these house sets made. I really would like two! They’re the perfect size for little folks and I make 16 each year. Thank you!

Hi Marian – I’m so glad to hear that you are having some more made. I live in the UK – do you ship there and do you also have a list to reserve? Many thanks!
marian says
Hi Kelly,
Thanks! I don’t have a list per say, but perhaps the shops I have shared in this post here will have an option for that. I’m fairly sure they all ship world-wide, once I find out for sure, I will come back and comment here.
Jodi Wood says
Now that is wonderful news!! Thank you bunches!

Tina Dahl says
Hi Marian-
The sets sold out before I could get a set so fingers and toes are crossed that I get a set when they are back in stock! Also, can you share a source for the pink, white and red swirl lollies that were used on your previously made Gingerbread Houses? There was a large red and white one and two smaller pink, red and white ones. Thanks!
XOXO-Tina
marian says
Hi Tina,
I believe they were from a candy store in Barrie which no longer exists, but this is another Candy shop I get items from, and they’re very knowledgeable about sourcing items, if you’re interested in contacting them; https://candyshoppe.ca/
Sorry I can’t be more specific, I was sad when I found out that original candy shop had closed!
Gingerbread house cutters coming soon!
Tina Dahl says
Thanks so much for the info Marian. I will contact Candy Shoppe! I ordered my Gingerbread House set and I am SOOO excited! I was just hired to design and produce a birthday party where the little guests will decorate gingerbread houses and I will use your set to make the house bases then the kiddos can decorate! One question, regarding your gingerbread cookie recipe that you used to make the houses, do you know how many finished houses one batch of your gingerbread cookie recipe will make? Just trying to figure out how much of the different ingredients I will need to make 10 finished houses. Thanks for any help and I can’t wait to get my set!!!
marian says
Hi Tina,
That’s exciting! Congrats! It has been a long time since I’ve made a bunch, I should have written some notes. Going by memory I think one batch my gingerbread recipe will make two houses comfortably. You could make one batch to test and freeze those pieces until you need them, so you’ll have a solid idea of what you’ll need. Sorry that’s not more helpful!
xo
Tina Dahl says
Thats very helpful, thanks! One more question 🙂 For the pink gingerbread house you show above, for the roof, did you use pink Necco wafers or something else?
marian says
I did! I bought a whole bunch of Necco wafer packs and separated them by color.
Tina Dahl says
Me again! I got my set yesterday….so excited to get started! Question…how thick did you roll your dough out? 1/4″?
Marian says
Yay!!
I’ve rolled it out varying thicknesses but yes, my favorite right now is 1/4 inch.
Have fun!
Susie says
Will the cookie cutter set be available again?
Vicki says
I want to purchase the gingerbread house cookie cutter set and also gingerbread cookie house for cookies
How can I get them?
