Christmas baking in full swing, I’m sharing these simple and sweet minis. Whimsical and fun, full credit goes to the talented Doodlebug Design Inc. team for the design ideas, with the exception of a few changes, my cookies are almost the same. You can find the originals here.
These cookies are quite simple to decorate, so I’m not sure you’d like a video of them. I did record the decorating process, so if you’d like to see it, please let me know in the comment section below or on social media. (Update – here is the video).
The cookie cutters can be found in How Sweet is That?’s shop here. The mini boxes are from Creative Bag, the specific link is here.
My royal icing recipe is here, and my cookie recipes are here.
Happy baking and decorating!

Marian

I would definitely love to see a video! They are gorgeous.
Thanks Gugs, I appreciate it!
Do you make the icing the consistency you want in a big batch then separate out amounts to add coloring ? Or make it stiff, then thin as you make specific colors? And it looked like you keep extra in small Tupperware type containers- do you empty the icing from the piping bags overnight? Your posts always make me smile
Hi Stephanie,
Generally I color my icings first and then adjust the consistencies. Depending on what I need the color for, I may need different consistencies anyways. I find that less gets incorporated into the icing if I color it when it’s thick.
The small tupperware containers are for icings which I know I need less of. For example, in this batch I knew I didn’t need a lot of black or yellow, so I portioned out a smaller amount for those.
I usually clean up all the piping bags at the end, so if it has separated overnight and massaging the bag doesn’t bring the icing back together well enough, I’ll make a new bag of that color.
Thanks for your comment, I very much appreciate it!
These are soooo cute! I just ordered the cutters – I would love to see the decorating video!
Ok, thanks Leah!!
What size cutters did you use? They are adorable!
Thanks Victoria! The measurements of each cutter are descriptions of How Sweet is That’s shop, here; https://howsweetisthat.ca/on-line-store.php#!/~/search/keyword=sweetopia%20minis
