Wow! I’ve been looking forward to this video! =) Thanks for sharing Marian! I will definitely try this on my first ever attempt on decorated cookies, that I’ll be making hopefully tomorrow. =) I just wish mine will turn out as pretty as yours. =)
Thanks for your fab tutorial! What would I like to see in the next tutorial? How to roll and cut cookies. Your cookie edges seem perfect. Mine always end up rounded and not sharp. I use your cookie recipe and sometimes the NFSC recipe from Cake central.
Thanks!
Very nice tutorial.
Now I just need to get some patience so I can give it a try. 🙂
Great video Marian. Your marbling patterns are some of the most unique (and neatest) I have seen!
Even though I don’t own a KopyKake, I would very much enjoy seeing you do a video on the process.
Best wishes for a Merry Christmas to you and your family (hope Santa brings a new toy for your bunny!)
I’m soooo bummed that I have gone to so many places here in the Mitten State and cannot come up with the silver balls…I know that’s not the official name…but, you know what I mean! Any suggestions on a place to order online? Or can I not ask that?
Ms. DoxieCakes; In the list of things you’ll need to decorated these cookies, click on the link which says Dragees. It should take you to Amazon. Hope that helps!
great tutorial…great!
you make it appear to be so easy but, i know it takes lots of practice!
so that’s my new year’s project…to be “respectable” @ decorating cookies!
joy filled, happy, healthy new year to you!
Thanks for the tutorial. You did such a great job. You should be on Martha. I love everything you do. For next video you could decorate cupcakes.
love your videos! Thank you for making them.
I’d love to see more videos on the kopykake projector; especially how and where you would look for the images or designs that would work and how you size them for the projector; basically all the work involved before it’s showing on the cookie….looking forward and thanks again!
Cool tutorial. Loved your video tutorial. I usually don’t make cookies, I am more into cakes. But seeing your cookies I just want whip up a batch and decorate them. They look so pretty, I don’t even feel like eating them. So pretty.
Can I just say, you rock! These are beautiful =)
I would love to see your “people” cookies. Like the little boy & girl in the Winter cookies. I think they are ADORABLE!!
Love love your tutorial you make it look so easy and enjoyable! thank you was looking forward to this! I love all your cookies, how about the tea Party cookies next! 🙂 Amazing and so inspiring!
Thank you so much
per er er er fect! I posted a link on ediblecrafts.craftgossip.com. I just had to. You’re such a natural! Can’t wait for more…
Fantastic video!! Thank you so much for the tips. I’ve always wondered how to do that, but never took the time to find out.
I love this video. You did a wonderful job. I tried marbling some candy canes and *as soon* as I flooded the cookie the icing started to harden over, so that when I added the second and began to drag the toothpick through it, the very top layer of the icing was cracking. Maybe my icing recipe was off? I used a Martha Stewart recipe with egg whites because I can’t find meringue powder.
What a great tutorial! It is so much easier to understand the technique with a video. Thanks a lot for sharing! I can’t wait to try this.
Marian, thank you so much for the video, I have marbled before and wondered why my cookies didn’t turn out the same, but watching the video although your instructions have been helpful the video was more enlightening, for instance the shaking when the icing is applied, that makes all the difference! I am so inspired by you and your work…I have finally purchased and received my Kopykake projector…all the way from the U.S to The Bahamas (sigh)now here’s where the pedal meets the medal re:piping!:)
Have a joyus and blessed Holiday and safe New Year!
so cute! im definitely going to try this, though after christmas, so anyone have any ideas what other themes this technique would fit?
YOU ARE FREAKING AWESOME so glad you did a video tutorial. as a visual learner it’s hard to grasp what is said. thank you SO MUCH for putting the time into making this video!
Yeah the video is awesome…..wish I could have classes with you everytime I am doing my cookies! I’m decorating tonight….are you available?
Thanks for the comments and video ideas! 🙂
@ Megan: You do have to work as fast as you’re able to. Even the icing I use starts to harden fairly quickly. I don’t wait in between the base layer and the next layer at all, so I’m not sure if it’s Martha’s recipe or not. Here’s the one I use:

@ Mikki: Here’s a link to some more marbled cookies with different themes:

Great marble effect, so neat and Perfect!! Awesome!! I agree with Serene, a How to roll and cut cookies will be great. I like the way yours look, so neat and straight. I decorated more cookies today, and the shaking really works. I wish I seen this video before so that I could of had practice the marbling effect.
Your are truly marvelous!
Happy Holidays 🙂
Thanks for sharing
I’d love to see how you made those adorable owl cookies. Or maybe how you make different cookie designs altogether. Thanks for the video tutorial, it’s really helpful! Love your work, Marian!
Love the video! I would love to see a tutorial of how to make royal icing and a demonstration of the 10 second rule.
thank YOU for all the inspiration over the year. Video was great & would love to see how you use the projector for creating images.
blessed Christmas
Thank you! Its awesome to see you at work on the cookies…the finished product is so beautiful I was not sure it was humanly possible!! 🙂 So more more more video! Others mentioned the topics that would be helpful….how to keep your cookies from “blobbing” and rounding out when they bake. And my piping is TERRIBLE. Any added help on consistency and outlining would be appreciated.
Thanks for the awesome video! Looking forward to more fabulous designs and inspiration from you.
Love your website!
Happy Holidays 😉
Yay! Great video and great to see YOU! I would loooove to see how you do the multi-layer icing like the owls and the little Eskimo dolls! Pretty please! 😀

Hi Marian – your cookies are gorgeous! Can I ask a silly question – where do you get those types of tweezers you are using in the video? Speciality shop?
Great tutorial, Marian! It’s nice to see you and hear your voice, you’re gorgeous!
great lesson, I love your tutorial video. Thank you for sharing your artistic talents.
Merry Christmas Marian.
Hi Marian, the video is really helpful…
in the next video i would love to see how to make the royal icing (the 10 second rule), and how to apply disco dust. Thanks for sharing!!
I’d love to see a video on how to cut custom cookie stencils!! Can’t justify a kopykake as I am a “kitchen hobbyist”. But decorating is zen like!

Beautiful! My sister in law always does this and I’ve never actually watched her do the marbling so it’s been a mystery to me. Now I know! Thanks for the great tutorial! Can’t wait to try it out myself 🙂

I am as pleased as punch that you have taken it to te video LEVEL! I wish you had all the time in the world to just teach cookies! YOu have an amazing eye and are one of the most approachable, kind, caring people I have met in my cookie adventures! Loved the video! You are BEAUTIFUL! =)
Bravo, Marian! It was fun to see you work your magic! You make it look so easy:) I’d like to see a video on getting your icing consistency “just right”. You are able to outline, fill in, and decorate details without waiting! Amazing!
I love your video!
I never piped any cookies before and you just made me feel like buying a pack of cookies and icing tools so I can get my creative juice flowing!
Love it! Thank you so much for this excellent and informative video. I’ve seen people do this before, but the shaking trick is new to me and I can see that it is a great way to get the colors to merge before marbling. Thanks for sharing!
Wow! My daughter and I were so impressed with your video. The instructions were so clear and seeing you actually create that beautiful ornament cookie was really cool. Thanks!
