Hello, hello and hope you are keeping well! Baking and decorating has been therapeutic for me, and I hope can be for you too. I decided to go with some mainly simple Easter designs this year, something easy and and fun for beginners and experienced decorators alike.
These shapes don’t represent the true meaning of Easter, but many people love them, and I hope to point others to the real significance of Easter, when the risen Christ is celebrated. To point towards a message of hope and love, salvation and truth, for me, and for all of mankind. Easter hasn’t always been meaningful to me, as I only became a believer in Jesus of Nazareth in my thirties, but when I finally realized that if it were true that Jesus is who he claimed to be, it would be the most important thing I could ever consider. If you’re interested in learning more, you can click on last year’s Easter post here.

Cookie Designs
Most of these cookie designs are beginner level but please let me know if you have any questions. I’ll share a few notes below.
Notes:
- Click here to find a tutorial on how to decorate these lamb cookies.
- You can use buttercream for the “lambs wool” if you prefer it to royal icing. Here is a recipe for American Buttercream and here is a recipe for Frosting.
- Click here to find a tutorial on how to decorate the bunny cookies below.
- Click here to find a video on marbling icing.
- Here are some free printables that you might want to use for your cookie and icing preparation.
- Here is an in-depth video on how to pipe royal icing lines.
- Here is a post on thawing frozen cookies, if you chose to make and freeze your cookies for a later date.
- Click here to find another tutorial on piping basket weave cookies.
- Besides the video tutorial on YouTube which I’ve shared above, I’ve also shared a few how-to videos on Instagram, which you can see here.
- Note that it’s best not too keep your cookies in the dehydrator too long, if you’re drying the icing that way. The chocolate hazelnut cookies can become very soft.
- I also had to pull a shelf out to lay the lamb cookies on. The icing of the “lambs wool” was high enough to touch the shelf above if I didn’t.
- You can find alternatives or options as to how to dry your cookies here. I don’t always use a dehydrator.
The video included in this post is in fast forward for the sake of time, but if you have any questions about the decorating process, please feel free to ask below!

Those are beautiful. I just pulled out my Easter cutters a few days ago and was deciding how to decorate them. Thanks for links to the tools and products you used. I ordered some new disposable bags that I hadn’t seen before. My bags are always bursting when I use thick royal. So nice to read your testimony about finding Christ! Enjoy this wonderful time of remembering his sacrifice for us.

Hi Joy,

Marian, I make the little lamb cookies every Easter. I saw them on your website a few years ago and fell in love with them. Piping the sheep’s wool is quite forgiving. I’m always motivated to try new decorating techniques after seeing your posts. I commented about these on Facebook this morning and spelling your name wrong. Sorry. Love everything you do!
marian says
Hi Marilyn,
I’m so glad to hear it! Aren’t those lambs so fun to make, and you’re right, piping the sheep’s wool is quite forgiving. No worries about spelling my name wrong, you are so considerate and sweet though, thank you. Wishing you all the best and lots of fun decorating your Easter cookies!

Beautiful my friend. I am so missing my grankids this year and decorating cookies with them. I made up a double batch of your Hershey Eggies cookies and 2 batches of Royal icing all coloured. Left at their door yesterday. I know they can do this!
marian says
Hi Jo-Ann,
Thank you so much for your comment! Hoping this goes by quickly so that you can decorate WITH them soon! You are such a good grandma for preparing everything. See you for a walk (fingers crossed), sooooon!
Donna says
