Cookie Sensations {Giveaway!!}

I’m thinking it’s about time I have another giveaway!

And the good news is… these delightful cookies have something to do with it!

I’m thrilled to be giving away an autographed copy of Meaghan Mountford’s cookie decorating book, Cookie Sensations!

As the creator behind these cookies and of the book Cookie Sensations, Meaghan truly is a woman of many talents!  Not only is she one of the nicest people I’ve ‘met’ on the internet and an amazing cookie decorator, she’s somehow manages to find the time to blog about her sweet creations over at the decorated cookie and share daily sweet inspiration on Edible Crafts – Craft Gossip.com!  And did I mention she has a little girl?!

Her story is fascinating; here’s what she says about her journey into the world of sweets and being an author:

I started working as a cookie decorator in 1998 for a new cookie shop, having never picked up a bag of frosting. I planned on staying a few months. I stayed for ten years. Not only did I love the job, but the flexible schedule enabled me to work while going through graduate school. I earned an MFA in Literature/Creative Writing and a Masters in Liberal Arts, with the hope of writing children’s books. But getting published is hard. Really, really hard. So I had the idea of writing a cookie decorating book, something I knew so well after so many years at the shop, as my gateway into the publishing world. But the book was such a challenge and joy to write, and with each passing year, I grew more and more attached to cookies. Then, after leaving the shop three years ago to have my daughter and starting the blog, I’ve delved into cupcakes, fondant, marshmallows, and so many more cookie decorating techniques, that somehow this temporary gig has consumed my life! Funny how such things work.

Well Meaghan, we’re so glad you did!

Exciting news!

Exciting news for all of us is that Meaghan is working on a new book!  She says, “This book will be about so much more than cookies. I’m moving beyond piping icing and delving into decorating cupcakes, little cakes, bigger cakes, marshmallows, candy and other treats. The book will have over fifty projects for crafty sweets and is packed full of tips and techniques.  I hope it will serve as a go-to resource for edible crafters. My goal is for every reader to be inspired, not overwhelmed, by the baking aisle of the craft store.”

  23. love the book. after my son told me he didn’t like to decorate cookie because it made his hands sticky… (what 4 yr old doesn’t like to decorate cookies???) I could use a little pick-me-up!

  26. I wanna win!! I have been following her blog, The Decorated Cookie, forever!! I have gotten so many great ideas from her! She is so talented!!! I did the watermelon cookies for my daughter’s first birthday and they were SO cute! 🙂
