I had wanted to renovate our master bedroom for 4 years before we finally got around to it. (Poor Dave, actually, he didn’t know what hit him. He came home one day and I was ripping the heart wallpaper of the walls =) No, he was glad to as well. (Will he read this? Hmmm… what would he say to that?) 😉
I don’t know how many ideas I played with until I came to the final choices you see here. Baby blue was once an option, but I finally settled on the Pottery Barn sheets you see here, and built the room around it. After the room was almost finished I found a picture of an almost exact replica of the room, by Pottery Barn. I didn’t copy it; swear!!
Anyways, the hardwood floors were Dave’s find. You can’t tell in the picture but they have that rippled effect of hand grooved wood, and a rustic, worn look to them. Because of the large, smoothed groves it’s actually soft on your feet! (That was the only thing I was going to miss; carpet on the floor to cushion my feet when I got up in the morning).
In this pic, the room isn’t quite finished yet… We were still waiting for the other bedside table and hadn’t hung the pics yet, but honestly, I’m too lazy to take another one. =) Maybe someday…

@ marian:
Beautiful. Can you please tell me the tan color you used on the walls? Thanks so much. @ Marian:

Hi @ Lisa: We took a striped pillowcase to Home Depot and had the paint department scan the beige stripe to match the walls to the paint. The bedding is called Sandalwood and can be found here; http://www.potterybarn.com/products/pb-classic-stripe-400-thread-count-duvet-cover-sham-sandalwood/?pkey=cclassic-stripe&cm_src=classic-stripe

Hello. Thank you so much for letting me know. I ordered the sheets last night! The room has the perfect blend of everything. Seaside, classic, serene. Have a great day. @ marian:

Awesome, @ Lisa! Thanks for your compliments! I am glad we went with that color scheme… At first I thought I might get bored with it, but truly, we both love entering and spending time in our bedroom – it *is* a relaxing, soothing room. I’d love to see a photo of yours when you’re done!

I will definitely send you a pic. It will be a little while as the room being done is down in Florida (we live f/t in NY). In my ‘idle’ time here I will work on finding the bed and dresser, fan, etc. Any other tips you’d like to share (like pointing me in the direction of where to shop 😉 would be very welcomed.
Though I can’t do white in my master here (in NY with the furry ones), I am going to see if the Sandlewood and color scheme can work with furniture I find. In two years of looking, I kept going back and forth. This is it. I found you by accident but what a great find! Have a wonderful day.

@ Lisa: I bought the bed online somewhere… gosh I can’t remember now, but couldn’t afford a Pottery Barn bed so went with a knock off. We are thrilled with it… looks great, good quality. I will come back and leave a comment if we remember the site it’s from. The dressers were from a local store, Saturday Afternoon Home Store, and were a little pricier than we wanted, but again, we love them; http://www.saturdayafternoons.ca/Home.html
The picture frames and beach prints are from Pottery Barn, but I’m not sure if they carry them any more. Ebay might have some.
The beadboard and trim we got at Home Depot.
The white quilt is from Pottery Barn, and they still sell it:

Shams also from Pottery Barn and I don’t see them, but these are similar:

Blanket box is from Ikea.
Hope that helps!

p.s. @ Lisa: Our lamps (he has the same one on his bedside table now) are Clara lamps from Pottery Barn.

You’re wonderful to share. I found two which were similar (Broyhill and Lang collections) but will check out the links you sent. I’ll keep you updated.
Pottery Barn def too expensive. We did get PB Basic couches there but they gave us 10% off and 10% back at the time.
Thank you again. I have some work to do (so exciting….which you’d laugh at knowing how I don’t like to do these things because I am constantly changing my mind).
🙂
