Magnasonic Mini or Pocket Projector
Sneak peek to these very girly princess cookies, which I made using my cookie decorating game-changing tool, the Magnasonic Pocket or Mini Projector. Because I’m somewhat challenged in the drawing department, the projector enables me to easily trace designs. I’ve got the Pico Projector as well but thought I’d try another one in case my Pico ever stops working. You can find a full video tutorial on the Pico Projector here.
If the Magnasonic is sold out on Amazon, the Pico is just as good. Comparing the two projectors is easy as both got the job done and are both simple to use, so long story short, I would recommend either one. As far as I’m aware, any Pico mini projector does the job well. You can find other mini, pocket-sized projectors here.
You can see the Magnasonic above and below, attached to the top of my Arkon Mount.
Arkon Remarkable Creators Phone and Tablet Stand
The projector is plugged into my iPad and mounted on this Arkon mount above. The mount is called the Remarkable Creators Phone and Tablet Stand, is $139.95 and you can get it on Arkon’s site here. You can get 20% off with the coupon code sweetopia. I noticed it is out of stock at the time of this post, but should be back in soon. You should know I am an affiliate of Arkon and Amazon, but only share products I use and love with you.
The clamp holds the Pico and the Magnasonic projectors firmly and snugly, as it adjusts to many different phone and mini projector sizes.
If you prefer to use another phone as your image source instead of a tablet, you can preorder (or buy, depending on the time you read this), the Cookie Decorators Mount Bundle.
The Cookie Decorators Mount is also great if you’d like to film while you’re decorating. It allows you to have the Pico projector held up above, and then with your phone held in the clamp mount attached to the post, you can film with your phone as you’re using the projector to decorate a cookie.
If you already have an Arkon Mount or Stand, and just want an extra clamp, you can purchase phone clamp post mounts individually. Find them here and use coupon code sweetopia to get 20% off.
A quick note about these cookie designs; I didn’t use the projector for the ice cream heart or leaf designs, and even though the unicorn and princess are fairly simple shapes, I did use the projector to help pipe them. It speeds up the process and minimizes cookie “mistakes” by having the projector to simply trace. A video of the decorating process is coming soon.
In case you’re interested, the unicorn and princess design are from this adorable book, Big Stickers for Little Hands.
New recipes are coming soon too by the way! Leave your comments below as to your guess as to what cookie base these ones are. Please also feel free to share any comments or questions you have below, I love to hear from you.
Hope you are well and, as usual, happy decorating!
xo,
Marian

Would you say the Pico projector projects big enough to write on a cake or put an image on a cake? I have the kopykake but wondering if I can use my Pico for cakes
Marian says
Hi Amalie,
Yes, you can change the sizing in the projector and/or the app or actual image. I mention the app in my pico projector tutorial and you can see it in that video.

Best mount ever! I can mount my cell phone or Pico projector and my IPad together with no problem. Very sturdy and with lots of attachments. Thank you for your recommendation for this projector.

Thanks so much for sharing, Connie, I’m so glad you think so too!
