Happy Monday friends!
It's been a while since I've had one, (summer holiday hiatus ;-)), and finally it's time for another Sweet of the Month Contest!
Sweet of the Month {Five}
If you're new here, Sweet of the Month is a friendly contest here on Sweetopia, where your sweet submissions are voted on by the internet public. The winner is simply the one with the most votes at the end of the month.
This month, the prize is an orange Olympus VG-160 Digital Camera – woo hoo!
In addition to winning the Olympus digital camera, you'll win a little ribbon to display on your site if you like (click on the ribbon to get the code):
Fun!
Submit your sweet for a chance to win!
The winner will be announced on facebook, twitter, pinterest, posted in the Sweet Gallery, and be showcased the following month.

I was trying to vote for the sweet of the month, and it says we can vote until the 27th… but for some reason, it is saying that the voting is now closed?
Marian (Sweetopia) says
Hi Sarah,
My apologies, the plugin was set incorrectly! I only noticed because the little square in the sidebar with the Sweet of the Month contest, had changed photos.
The new contest will begin next Monday.
Marian says
I have received some emails regarding the contest date (pls see explanation above), and one person who has questioned my motive. Here is my response:
Hi X,
I am saddened by your email, I work very hard on my blog and love it very much- and it brings me happiness when others are happy about it too, and of course vice versa.
I hope you understand that except for some web design changes I can’t do, I maintain the blog and do everything for it. I am not an expert and am learning as I go, and for the contest plugin I made a mistake with the date and didn’t even realize it until I saw the robot photo in the sidebar.
I do not know the winner, who lives in Spain btw, and I have absolutely no vested interest in who wins my giveaways or contests.
My blog Sweetopia is very dear to me, as are the people who read it, and I would never intentionally ‘rig’ something. I am human… Sweetopia is solely created by me…I hope my readers can see that everything I do is for the love of sweets and the lovely readers who visit me there.
xo,
Marian

Can you blame me? In the interest of fairness, i just had to bring it up. And because i was’t seeing any explanations for the mistake done.
marian says
Thank you for bringing up your thoughts @ Rino. I am sorry for the upset it has caused people. I hope you understand where I am coming from now. All the best, Marian
Chelsea says
I’m sorry Marian, but I have to agree with Rino. I feel it was not a fair game. Something should have been done about it, other than just announcing the winner, awarding the prize. A mistake has been made, and we all make mistakes, but what counts is what we do to rectify the situation. We understand that it is generous of you to do these contests, but with it comes the responsibility of keeping it true and fair. You have to have integrity in them.
Imagine, in the coming elections… where they just suddenly change the end-date-time of the election.. and then just say, sorry, the election committee made a mistake, but … please do accept my apology … but here is your new president anyway. Do you think this will cut it?
Krista says
Oh my gosh, it was just a mistake. Leave it at that.
